Bill Blair to inform Toronto police board if he’s renewing his appointment

It’s decision day for Toronto police chief Bill Blair who must inform the police services board whether he wants his contract extended.
Blair’s contract expires April 2015 but the terms dictate he must tell the board by the end of Friday if he wants his contract renewed for another five years.
If he wants to continue as chief, the board will put that decision to a vote.
It has 30 days to advise Blair whether his contract will be renewed.
Blair, 60, has been chief since April 2005, and has been a police officer for 39 years.
Blair earns over $300,000 annually and still has a good deal of public support despite calls from the Ford Brothers for his resignation.
