2 brands of meat, cheese recalled due to possible contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled two brands of cheese and meat.

L’Alpette brand sheep cheese with a best before date of Oct. 31 in 160-gram packages has been recalled because it may be contaminated with Staphylococcus.

There is no UPC number associated with the product.

Symptoms of Staphylococcus poisoning include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, fever, headache, muscle cramping and changes in blood pressure and pulse rate.

MarcAngelo brand smoked prosciutto speck with a best before date of Nov. 2 in 100-gram packages is being pulled from store shelves due to Listeria concerns.

The UPC is 6 27907 05740 3.

Symptoms of Listeria poisoning can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
