2 homes destroyed in fire near Jane, Dundas

Dozens of firefighters were dousing hot spots on Friday afternoon after bringing a three-alarm blaze under control in Toronto’s west end.

The call came in around 12:30 p.m. for a fire at a semi-detached house on Sun Valley Drive, near Jane and Dundas streets.

The flames spread to the neighbouring unit and, in the end, two homes were destroyed and others were affected.

The damage is estimated at more than $500,000.

There have been no reports of any injuries.

It appears the fire started in the garage and spread quickly to the homes.
