Former Sheridan College dept. head among 2 men charged with historical sex assaults

Two Toronto men, including a former department head of Sheridan College’s Oakville campus, are facing charges for alleged sex assaults on boys and men over a 30-year period.

Police say the suspects acted both together and individually over the last three decades, allegedly assaulting numerous victims between the ages of 11 and 30. Police believe there may be more victims that haven’t yet come forward.

James Brian Wickens, 68, and David Ralph Cole, 77, are both facing several counts of indecent assault on a male and gross indecency.

Cole was department head at Sheridan in the 1980s, police said in a release.

Police say both men are also Mexican citizens and spend their winters in the Puerto Vallarta area.

They are expected in court on October 17.
