Brampton’s mayor is claiming vindication in a spending scandal that has seen her sink in the public opinion polls during this election campaign.
Susan Fennell held a news conference outside her home on Friday morning.
“My name is now cleared once and for all as I knew I would be,” she said.
She says an arbitrator’s reports has revealed $3,000 in improper spending versus the nearly $200,000 cited in a forensic audit.
In a press release, she says the arbitrator was hired by the City of Brampton and it found that Deloitte “misinterpreted expense policies.”
