Tango festival: Fans of the tango can learn and practise their technique at the four-day Tango 8 Fest, which features workshops, mesmerizing performances by Argentinian masters and dance parties. Polish Hall, 206 Beverley St. Until Sunday, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. $10 to $40. tango8fest.com.

Brain exhibit: A new exhibit at the Ontario Science Centre, which opened on Wednesday, explores the inner workings of the brain and how it has evolved over time through the use of art, brain imaging, and interactive elements. Brain: The Inside Story is on tour from the American Museum of Natural History and aims to capture the latest innovations in the field of neuroscience. Ontario Science Centre. Ice, Wine & Dine: We may be in a cold snap, but don’t let that prevent you from getting outside and attending this annual culinary event on Elm Street in downtown Toronto. Sample sumptuous eats as well as signature drinks from 18 participating restaurants, including The Queen & Beaver, Pantages Mini Bar and Oro Restaurant.
