FBI conclusively links North Korea to Sony hack

The FBI says the North Korean government is responsible for the hack attack against Sony.

Hackers are responsible for seizing control of Sony Corp.’s computer system last month, disclosing salaries and internal discussions important to the company’s future.

Hackers then threatened 9/11-like attacks, warning people to stay away from cinemas showing The Interview, a comedy where North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is killed.

“We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time,” the hackers wrote.

“(If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.)”

The threats prompted Sony to cancel the Christmas release of the film, which stars James Franco and Seth Rogen.
