Kevin Frankish bids farewell to viewers on City’s Breakfast Television

By The Canadian Press

TORONTO – Kevin Frankish, longtime host of Breakfast Television on the City TV station, is leaving the morning show.

Frankish delivered an emotional farewell to viewers Tuesday morning.

He says Friday will be his last day on the program.

Frankish says he will remain involved with the TV station, returning periodically for special projects.

He fondly recalled proposing to his wife on air, celebrating the birth of his four children and sharing his public battle with depression.

He thanked his “families” in his personal life, the studio and the viewers at home.

“You’ve shared so many of your stories with me,” he told the audience. “We are truly a family.”

Rogers Media, which owns City, issued a statement wishing Frankish all the best in his future endeavours, including his new documentary series to be broadcast on the station.

“Kevin has been a trusted face invited into the homes of our viewers for the past 27 years, and a leader in the vision of Breakfast Television,” the statement said.

“Stay tuned for more details to be announced in the coming months.”
